1995 Anthony Rose Limited was established with the intention of developing custom IT application solutions within the Microsoft® database and application market. During those early years of computing, desktop computers were new to many organisations and the need for digital information management solutions was becoming apparent.
With the market flooded by many vendors producing DOS based or text based applications such as Magic, Ingres, SCO, UNIX, IBM among others, only one IT vendor (Microsoft) was producing real time event-driven applications that cut down the time and cost needed to develop custom solutions to business.
Anthony Rose moved away from writing C coded applications and started working on event-driven programming with tools such as MS Access 1.1, Visual Basic 3.0 and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) encapsulated within the MS-Office suite of products.
During the last 20 years, IT has changed considerably, and so has the way in which we manage the applications. For example the majority of programming tasks have moved away from traditional windows forms into web browser interactive web pages, the underlying script languages now in javascript, with C# or .Net as server side programming calling _api references or modules and configurations settings controlled by XML files.
With the current explosion of smart phone technology and mobile tablets, the very idea of desktop computers is fading and the future for data systems is moving into the Cloud based technologies.
